Accelerated Conditioning And Shape Stabilisation Of Leather In Footwear
Abstract
Some of the more recent developments in the shoemaking industry for rapidly conditioning upper leather are reviewed. The more novel Temperature Gradient Conditioning process is described in some detail. Associated developments in the field of accelerated ageing by heat are discussed. Special reference is made to the influence of Temperature, Time and Moisture Content upon the shape stability of leather in footwear.
