Topographic Differences in Physical Properties

Abstract

A study has been made of the topographic differences in physical properties of different kinds of leather. Lots of data from the literature supplemented with those of our own work show that regular patterns are obtained for the physical properties, provided that the average of a number of skins is considered. These patterns are independent of age and sex of the animal and of the tanning method. The curves of the individual skins may differ considerably from the average curves.
