Determination of the Behaviour of Various Dyestuff Classes in Cold Dyeing Without Float
Abstract
The behaviour of the various dyestuff classes in cold dyeing without float has been examined in detail. Tests showed that the dyeing properties of various leather dyestuffs and the levelness of the dyeings can be distinctly improved by liquor-free operation at room temperature. The possible relationship between the chemical structure of the dyestuff molecule and the dyeing behaviour of the dyestuff in cold dyeing without float is discussed, and a few variants of this procedure that may be of interest to the leather dyer and finisher are described.
