Abstract

Based on the literature in the field of leather products research in the two major databases of CNKI and Web of Science, the closely related literature on leather products research in the last 10 years (2015-2024) was used as the research object, and the information visualisation software CiteSpace 6.4.R1 was used to target its annual publication volume, source journals, co-authors, research institutions, research hotspots, and emergent words to carry out measurement analysis. This study shows that: 1) research related to leather products has shown a fluctuating increase in the number of domestic and international publications since 2015; 2) domestic and international research scholars and research institutions have obvious limitations, and the degree of cooperation is relatively low; 3) the keyword co-occurrence chart and frequency table show that there is a problem of mixing of near-synonyms in the application of keywords in this field nationally and internationally, and that the main research hotspots of the CNKI and WoS databases are the industrial application of leather products and technology orientation, respectively; 4) according to the keyword clustering chart, research hotspots can be seen in CNKI, mainly focusing on the leather industry, design application and innovation, technology and material processing, environmental protection theme research direction involves less, and WoS focuses on sustainable environmental protection technology, economic development, materials science, and interdisciplinary cross-study. These two research directions have potential intersections, and domestic and international scholars in this field should conduct research cooperation and studies to promote the depth of integration of green technology and industrial practice, so that the leather products in this research field present a systematic research level.
