Abstract

Twelve UK tanneries (bovine, ovine and semi-chrome dressers) participated in a survey of chromium utilisation. Chrome balances were constructed for 72 packs from 33 processes. The results are discussed with respect to the effect of various chrome-bearing liquors on the chrome levels in mixed tannery effluent.
