Bating of Furrier Sheepskins in Recycled Liquors After Analytical Standardisation of Proteolytic Activity

Abstract

The bating of fur sheep skins in recycled enzyme-pickle liquors was the subject of intensive investigation. The method for analytical standardisation of proteolytic activity in spent liquors was developed in order to allow us to control standard bating conditions. The technology has been applied on a commercial scale in the industry since 1990 and gives good results being an effective process giving good quality and a high area yield of leather.
