Abstract

Laboratory scale experiments were carried out to test the efficiency of the extracellular proteases from the culture filtrate of Streptomyces spp. G₁₅₇ as a bate. A comparative study was carried out with the commercially available bate. Visual assessment, and microscopic analysis revealed that the extracellular proteases from the culture filtrate of Streptomyces spp. G₁₅₇ were more efficient than the commercially available bate. Physical testing data indicated that it did not have any adverse effect on the properties of the leather.
