Abstract
The evolution, structural traits and characteristics of hyperbranched polymers are summarized. Furthermore, the article analyzes the feasibility of their applicability as a new type of tanning agent in leather industry with the possibility of chrome-free leather. The article is intended as a guide and introduction to hyperbranched polymers and their possible applications in the leather industry.
