Abstract

A blind study was undertaken to determine the levels of commonly used fungicides emitted from standard furniture upholstery leather. These data are of relevance due to limits placed on fungicides used in the manufacture of upholstery leathers under the Blue Angel Ecological Label. The Blue Angel award is granted in Germany in the form of a nationally recognized label that rewards companies for conforming to specific ecological requirements. The criteria for the award for ’Low-Emission Upholstery Furniture’ are outlined in the publication RAL UZ-117.
