Early Leather Trades’ Engineers of Leeds, Part III. Joseph Hall & Co.

Abstract

The third of a series of four articles dealing with the history of the development of the Leather Trades’ Machinery industry in Leeds. Details are given of the history of Joseph Hall and Co. from 1870 to 1924 together with mentions of other pioneer companies such as Joseph Whitham. The account covers Patent disagreements and the licenced manufacture of machinery from the USA for the newly introduced chrome tanned glacé kid leathers.
