Status Of The Leather Industry In Eight African Countries Part 2: Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia And Zimbabwe
Abstract
This paper presents the data gathered from a UNIDO assisted study of the African leather Industry. Detailed statistics are given for hide and skin production and tannery capacities. In addition general descriptions are given of the breeds involved as well as the typical faults and problems with hides and skins. The first part of the paper dealt with Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi and Sudan this part completes the work dealing with Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
