Enzyme Hydrolysis Of Solid Tannery Wastes: Solid State Enzyme Production

Abstract

A heat stable alkaline protease was found to be produced by Paecilomuces lilacinus. The enzyme was produced by solid state fermentation. Solid wastes such as lime fleshings and chrome shavings were used as the substrate for hydrolysis. Both wastes were efficiently solubilised. The effectiveness of the hydrolysis was determined by Kjeldahl nitro gen analysis.
