Abstract

The IULTCS Congress was held in London from 11—14 September 1997. This paper discusses some of the lectures and posters given at the congress and suggests an alternative process for the 21st century. This will include controlled drying, gaseous pickling, totally synthetic tannages or chromium(III) tannages with its efficacy improved by rare earth elements, and power ultrasound to speed up processing times
