Thermal Properties Of Ovine Clothing Leathers As A Function Of The Retanning Agents
Abstract
Thermal properties of ovine clothing leathers were determined using the Alambeta T675 device. Thermal resistance and thermal penetration coefficient were calculated. These parameters explain the insulating properties and the warm cool feel of leather on short contact with human skin. The measurements were carried out in three different areas of retanned and non-retanned leathers and the effect of the eight retanning agents used was discussed.
