Study On The Compression Properties Of Leather And Fitting With A Three-Parameter Model

Abstract

In this work, the compression property of different kinds of leather has been studied, and a Three- Parameter Model (1PM) used to fit the compressive stress strain curve (CSSC) and decompressive stress strain curve (DSSC). A compression factor (CF) derived from the TPM has been successfully used for the assessment of the softness of leather, the greater the CF, the softer the leather. TPM has also been used to study the effect of retanning and fatliquoring.
