SLTC 2026 CONFERENCE 24TH-25TH APRIL – SAVE THE DATE
Abstract
The paper introduces the concept of net output from which global sum all economic activity within a country is based. At the present time industry is under pressure to spend an increasing proportion of its available net output on non-productive activity. In this paper two aspects will be considered. The first of these discusses the increasing cost of pollution control and the need to challenge assumptions that particular components of industrial wastes are harmful; particular attention is given to problems associated with Chromium III. The second reviews consumer protection legislation and the potential for developing a certification scheme for leather which could be a useful aid to marketing.
