Collagen fibre is used to simulate the chrome tanning of pickled hide. The adsorption properties of collagen fibre toward Cr(III) under different conditions were analyzed. The adsorption kinetic of the collagen fibre toward Cr(III) was studied. The Lagrange pseudo-first-order kinetic model, pseudosecond- order kinetic model and intra-particle diffusion model were employed to study the adsorption kinetics behaviour. FT-IR, SEM-EDS, XRD, TGA and Ion distributor analysis were employed to characterize the difference between collagen fibre and Cr(III) loaded collagen fibre.
