Analysis Of Parachlorometacresol (PCMC) And Orthophenylphenol (OPP) In Leather Preservative Formulations Using Derivative Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry
Abstract
This study shows that first and second derivative UV spectrophotometry are useful for the analysis of OPP and PCMC respectively when present together. Linear calibration graphs were established over a concen tration range of 10—50 ig/ml. The results were found to be comparable to GC—MSD data. The application of this simple and rapid technique for the analysis of OPP and PCMC in leather preservative formulations is described.
