Abstract

An iodometric method for determination of Cr2O3 in masked highly basic chromium tanning agents has been developed. It has been applied for analysis of Cr 203in two tanning agents (products of different companies). Their basicity was 50% and the Cr 203content was 30%. The results obtained showed a good precision and accuracy. The relative standard deviation was S 0.2%. The method proposed could be applied for analysis ofCr 203in solid chromium tanning agents with lower basicities and Cr2O3 content.
