Abstract
This article adopted the optimum liquid membrane scheme to carry out an emulsion liquid membrane separation and to determine the amount of Cr(VI) in the finished leather. The experimental results reveal that the emulsion liquid membrane method can effectively separate Cr(VI) from the leather extract to remove the colour of the extract and also avoid the effects of Cr(III) being transformed into Cr(VI). It can determine the amounts of Cr in the pre-separating and post-separating solution, that is to calculate the amount of Cr(VI) in the leather sample. This method is accurate and easy to use. Its indexed recovery rate is 95.6% – 106%.
