Abstract

A method for determining the water content of solvent mixtures which are rich in ketones is described. As little as 0.1 g of water can be accurately determined by azeotropic distillation followed by Karl Fischer titration. A more rapid variant is described which is suitable for the approximate estimation of larger amounts of water.
