In this paper, a single bioflocculant was used to treat nitrogen in tannery wastewater. At different processing time points, the nitrogen concentrations for the total nitrogen, ammonia, Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate, and nitrite were determined. Furthermore, a computer simulation was performed to derive the experience dynamic equations as follows:
The established dynamic equations can be used to predict the removal capacity of the total nitrogen, ammonia, Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate, and nitrite in the tannery wastewater treated with the bioflocculant, calculate the optimum processing time, and cut costs. In addition, these equations establish a foundation for studying the mechanism underlying this bioflocculant treatment for tannery wastewater.
