The second article of a short series dealing with the history of the development of the Leather Trades’ Machinery industry in Leeds. The growth and development of B. & D. Wright is described from 1863 to 1934 when they became part of G. L. Murphy. Their pioneering export achievements and the effects of overseas competition on the local companies is also documented.
