Abstract

This paper centres on the activities of the traditional tanning sector with a view to recommending ways of engendering technological innovation in the sector. As a background to the discussion, the historical development of the tanning industry is examined. Production processes of the traditional tanning sector in Nigeria are discussed and suggestions for technological innovation in the sector offered.
