On the Nature of the Relationship Between the Water and Oil Contents of Chrome Tanned Leather
Abstract
The relationship between the water and oil contents for chrome tanned leather has been investigated over the range of oil contents from zero to more than 40%. It was established that there is a linear relationship between the factors, with moisture content decreasing from 19.8 to 11.3% as the oil content increases to 41.3%, for leather conditioned at 20°C and 65% r.h.
