This paper mainly studied the relationship between moisture permeability, thickness and temperature of cattle and sheep leather. The arrangement of protein fibres was obtained by scanning electron microscope and the effect of temperature on the moisture permeability of cattle and sheep leather was analysed from the microscopic point of view. The fitting equation of the relationship between moisture permeability of cow and sheep leather and thickness and temperature at one atmospheric pressure was obtained.
Cow leather equation: Y1 = −0.07556×2 −0.2099xT + 0.03592T2 + 0.4021x − 2.579T + 60.04
Sheep leather equation: Y2 = −0.05995×2 −0.1565xT + 0.03166T2 + 3.475x − 2.254T + 47.34
The automatic generation curve of temperature, thickness and moisture permeability was established by MATLAB, and the moisture permeability of sheepskin and cowhide under the condition of unknown temperature and thickness can be predicted.
