Abstract

The Museum of Leathercraft hopes to develop a Re-Collectionsʼ exhibition, which treats the Museum of Leathercraftʼs collections as tools whereby members of the public using objects selected from the museum collection, tell their stories, whether that is reflecting upon a career in the industry, or an object that reminds them of memories of a friend, a relative or an incident. This paper shows how museum objects are really time capsules of past experiences, and how imperative it is to capture these stories before they disappear.
