Abstract
This report describes the adaptation of an isometric tension technique for use with skin samples. The technique involved measures the decay of the force produced when a specimen is held at constant length above the shrinkage temperature, Ts. The decline in force reflects the breaking of the thermolabile cross-links found in immature skin collagen and can thus be used to monitor the maturation process of skins.
