Spectrophotometric Determination Of Chromium In Leather Using Diphenyl Carbazide And Malachite Green
Abstract
The spectrophotometric determination of trivalent chromium present in different leather samples was carried out by the oxidation of metal to its hexavalent state and subsequent development of colour with either malachite green or diphenyl carbazide. The concentrations of metal obtained in both methods were compared and the efficacy of the former reagent in the estimation of chromium content in leather is discussed.
