Abstract

Observations have been made from a series of laboratory, pilot plant and tannery scale experiments with regard to the manufacture of mimosa retanned chrome leather. Stages in the processing from soaking of the raw hides to finishing are discussed and suggestions are given for a process for making chrome retan leather using mimosa as the main retanning agent.
