Abstract
The graft copolymer retanning material of degraded starch and vinyl monomers was synthesized by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA), acrylonitrile (AN) and acrylamide (AM) on starch with ammonium persulfate ((NH4)2S2O8) as initiator. The effect of the mass concentration of starch, vinyl monomers and initiator on the graft yield, the graft efficiency, the monomer conversion and tannage properties were investigated. The structure of the graft copolymer was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The application test was carried out on goat leather.
