The Role of High Rate Bio-Filters in the Leather Industry
Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of high rate bio-filters vis-a-vis conventional biological filters and discusses the new packings now available as alternatives to stone or clinker. Areas of potentially useful application in the leather industry are suggested and the results from pilot scale experiments on two very different types of effluent are discussed.
