The Theoretical Basis Of Treatment Of Leather With Aqueous Polymer Dispersions
Abstract
On the basis of results obtained in experiments, it has been established that the adhesive and mechanical properties of polymers introduced into leather in the form of aqueous dispersions affect the macro structure and the physical-mechanical properties of the leather. Investigations covered the following: Rigidity of the polymer; surface saturation of dispersed particles by emulsiflers; critical concentrations; electro-chernical inter action; absorption resistance; particle size and surface elongation of polymer and also, the effect of the above factors on the fullness and feel of leather produced.
